19 December 2017 - Australian Business Grows Pessimistic
Australian business has become increasingly
pessimistic in the face of low spending and uncertain economic conditions. The
latest NAB monthly business survey reported a sharp decline in both conditions
and confidence during November, with the retail sector looking especially weak
in the lead-up to Christmas and rising wages also recognised as a big concern.
While business conditions and confidence are still above the long-term average,
weak household consumption has helped to create a downward trend over the past
few months.

First-home buyers are on the rise across

Australia (REIA) Housing Affordability Report, first-home buyer numbers
increased by 36 percent over the year on a nationwide basis. New South Wales is
leading the charge with a 70.9 percent increase between September quarters,
thanks in part to good housing incentives, increased apartment stock, and less
competition from investors.

undergo medical procedures. From the beaches of Rio de Janeiro and Costa Rica

1 December 2017 - Genetic Fountain of Youth Discovered
The first genetic mutation that protects
against aging has been found in humans, with scientists using this discovery to
develop a longevity drug that attempts to protect people from aging-related
diseases. While scientists have always known that certain communities live
longer than others, the genetic markers for increased longevity have always
been a mystery. Researchers found what they were looking for in an extended
family of Old Order Amish living in the vicinity of Berne, Indiana, where
people not only live longer but also have significantly less cases of diabetes
and better overall health outcomes.
